A Brief Project History
JUN 2013 -
Bryan 'Papa Spongy' Polsinelli, also known as Dustin Marlin (his musical stage name at the time), creates the Mr. Green character! Mr. Green is originally used as the feature character for all of Dustin Marlin's album cover artwork. Fresh out of sound engineering schooling and working live sound in Detroit's only live music streaming cafe, Dustin releases his first mixtape, The First Sighting, with plans to continue to develop the Mr. Green character and story alongside his future music projects.

After years of grinding open mic shows, developing singles and collabing with other artists, Dustin Marlin has grown a very small local following and Bryan aka Dustin opens a small recording studio business out of his home. The next Dustin Marlin mixtape comes out and creates a little local buzz for the artist even scoring him a nomination for 'Best New Artist' in the Detroit Music Awards. Mr. Green's presence in Bryan's art continues to grow. With the help of some great people around him, Dustin grows his following on a new social media platform called Tsu (Short for Tsunami) to around 40K mainly by creating GIFs of Mr. Green in a bunch of different art mediums (claymation, sketch, etc.). With the drop of Dustin Marlin's 'Alien Dressed Like A Lion Jackin' Beats From Outer Space' Mixtape (ADLAJBFOS) potential for the artist and his little alien character are at an all time high!
DEC 2017 -
Working and/or operating landscaping businesses becomes Bryan's main gig. The Tsu app has an abrupt end and Bryan takes a break from social media. All the while, Mr. Green The Grey becomes Bryan's main focus. While still keeping the two art forms connected, the priority becomes moving the entire Mr. Green concept past being just an artistic feature of a music performer's brand. The first inklings of a comic are born as Bryan begins to properly educate himself in the world of graphic design and cartooning. The original cartoon strips use a claymation Mr. Green combined with artistically edited photos to accomplish the final effect.

While remaining off social platforms, Bryan continues to work on personal health and wellness, self educating as a graphic designer (his first Wacom tablet takes things to the next level!), his music and of course... developing Mr. Green! Bryan aka Dustin Marlin meets Nick Morris of Luxor Records and together the two start crafting the music for Bryan's vision for a debut album for an animated band (think Gorillaz as a main inspo). The band is to be called 'Lost In Looking' and surprise, surprise... it features Mr. Green leading the way! Bryan has dreams to turn his vision into animated movies but for now the priority is developing a unique sound! The idea is to blend the sounds and vocal styling of hip-hop with a fully acoustic jam band (a rapping Dave Matthews Band was the goal!). The two young men start a years long journey of creating some really cool music together!
DEC 2019 -
After years of hard work, the 'Lost In Looking' debut album 'Moon Project: The EP' was just about ready to be released! With all credit due to Nick's producer/engineering skills and the amazing musicians that helped pull the album together, it comes time to start thinking about how to release and market this beauty. Bryan aka Dustin Marlin has been off socials for some time so there is no following to start with. The plan is to create an animated video for the main single to anchor a summer 2020 album release. Not long into diving into the process of making an animated music video the world up and changes forever... and so does the path of destiny for the Lost In Looking debut album and the Mr. Green The Grey project.

After the initial panic of the 2020 pandemic cools down, Nick and Bryan get back to work! This time with a fresh web3 approach! After learning about NFTs through Gary Vee and getting involved in crypto and stock trading, Bryan is convinced that not only is the NFT space the perfect place to unleash the Mr. Green universe on the world but the project could be a leading example for how music artists could merge their overall creative visions into the web3 space. The MGTG team saw web3 as a place where artists could develop their brand into a profitable business and be the ones to benefit off of their creations instead of a label or streaming service. The duo works tirelessly to figure out all the technicals and get their hand drawn collection ready for a December 2021 launch. Despite the following being smaller, MGTG grows a strong and engaging Discord community leading up to launch. Despite their best efforts their timing for launching the project was not good (if you know what the crypto and NFT market did in Dec. 21 than you know!). The launch is mostly unsuccessful with 31 wallets holding 271 Greenie NFTs.
...Mr. Green has little choice but to prepare his crew of Greenie clones for a new mission on a new launch day. The small MGTG Flight Crew of ELITE early minted Greenies retreat back to the Athena mothership, readying themselves for a triumphant return! Don't miss your abduction!

Are MGTG NFTs (Greenies) rare?MGTG NFTs are definitely rare! Some even more so than others. Each Greenie is algorithmically genrated from over 350 unique properties including backgrounds, outfits, face expressions, mouth expressions and headgear. Every MGTG NFT will be unqiue, some will be flat out special! Be on the look out for limited bronze, gold, platinum, rare and super green backgrounds, they come with perks!

How does the Pre-Launch work?MGTG NFTs will be available for purchase through this website during the Pre-Launch. At the time of purchase your MGTG NFT will be minted and delievered to your wallet and your Opensea account featuring the image of Lost in Looking's debut album, Moon Project: The EP. On launch day the real metadata will go live and users will be able to hit 'refresh metadata' on Opensea to see the reveal of their real MGTG NFTs!
